Intellectually vibrant and solidly multi-cultural with its 140 students hailing from 31 countries (45% Senegalese, 16% French, 39% from other corners of the world), the College-Lycee Bilingue is unique among Dakar high schools.
The College’s mission to prepare students to become responsible members of society, offers an environment aimed at forming bi-lingual (French/English), global eco-citizens.
In 2012, the College was selected as a model ‘green’ school for West Africa and Senegal.
Small class sizes allow our students to benefit from individualized attention; students with various learning needs may receive individualised educational support. Interdisciplinary project-based classwork often incorporate group work to further support the growth of each learner.
Methodology classes for students in 6eme and 5eme offer invaluable study skills necessary for independent learners. Our library and research center, equipped with 15 computers and well-stocked bookshelves also encourage learning and study. Students may opt to pass annual CAMBRIDGE or DELF exams and receive a CECRL diploma, while high school students may study and sit for both the SAT and TOEFL exams.
The newly created Cite Scolaire International regroups Ecole Actuelle Bilingue, the College/Lycee Bilingue and the Dakar Center for Teacher Training, permitting an integrated approach and curriculum for students from pre-school to Terminale, while reinforcing a common educational identity and philosophy.
The International Baccalaureate with its emphasis on global tolerance now offers even more opportunities to our entire academic community and we look forward excitedly to this newest chapter.
